Hello there!
I’m Nipun – but you can call me Nip.
Food has always been a big part of my life. Growing up in Sri Lanka, I was surrounded by one of the richest food cultures in the world — bold spices, big flavours, and family recipes passed down through generations. As a kid, I was glued to TV cooking shows, always curious and hungry to learn more.
I moved to Australia in 2022, and that’s when I truly began to appreciate the magic of the cuisine I grew up with. Through Nipcooks, I’m on a mission to celebrate Sri Lankan and South Asian food — not just by recreating traditional dishes, but by exploring the deep connections between cultures, ingredients, and techniques across the region.
To me, food is more than what’s on the plate — it’s a way to share stories, bridge cultures, and bring people together. I'm also passionate about creating easy, accessible recipes that blend the flavours I grew up with and the global inspirations I’ve picked up along the way.
Come along for the ride — let’s cook, eat, and celebrate together!
KING OF CURRY
What started with peeling carrots for my mum in the kitchen grew into a love for cooking curries, exploring South Asian flavours — and more.
In 2020, I began sharing my food online- now, almost 400,000 people were following along on Instagram and TikTok. From hidden South Asian gems to quick wok meals, I’m all about bold, doable recipes that bring people together.
Some even call me the King of Curry — but hey, I just love sharing good food.
